Vibration and strain

The mechanical loads of components are crucial for the design of offshore foundations. To test in practice whether the calculated vibrations and strains correspond to the actual loads the strain gauge measurements by Thales Instruments and their affiliated company Ingenieurbüro Graf have proved to be effective in many projects.

On the Amrumbank measurement mast we designed, fitted, delivered to sea and finally put into operation strain gauges (SG) and acceleration sensors to measure component vibrations over their whole service life. With this data the engineers can design components more precisely in future and more accurately predict their service life expectancy.

Our range of services

  • SG for all metals, glass fibre reinforced plastic, carbon fibre reinforced plastic, concrete, ceramic materials, thermosetting plastics

  • Vibration measurements, transmission of structure-borne noise, acoustic noise

  • Documentation and analysis, classification according to DIN / IEC
